My daughters were crocheting rag rugs.
My daughters are thirteen and fourteen years old. Although they have never been in trouble at school or with the law, I was becoming very suspicious of their behavior. They were locking themselves in their rooms at night, rather than spending time with my husband and I. They were going to friends houses and staying very late. They claimed to be studying, but school comes naturally to them, and they had never had to study this much before in order to get good grades. I was becoming very worried, hoping that they weren't experimenting with drugs. I ended up finding out that the girls were crocheting rag rugs and teaching their friends how to do it. My grandmother taught the girls how to make rugs, but I was not aware of the fact. They were making handmade rugs for family members for Christmas. I was relieved when I found out what they were up to, and I felt guilty about the fact that I thought they were doing something dangerous and harmful.
