Some of the symptoms of spine stenosis can vary, depending on the area of the spine in which the stenosis, or narrowing of the spinal canal originates. In cases of cervical spinal stenosis, the person may experience numbness and a weakness in their upper extremities and may have a slightly uncoordinated walk. If the stenosis develops in the lower back, also known as the lumbar region, the symptoms are similar and different. The numbness and weak feeling will occur in the legs. There may also be some pain as well as a tingling sensation. This type of lower back issues may bother people while they walk, but feel better when they sit.
