One of the best possible  investments  is land. Think about it. Land will tend always appreciate in value, except in the most extreme cases. Why? It’s a resource that generally cannot be generated unless you reclaim it at great cost, and its becoming more and more scarce in our ever increasingly crowded world. However, investments in land already valued highly tend to be very difficult to obtain. However there are still many options available for those with not too much money to invest. If you can wait a while (say a few decades) you will invariably be able to profit form most investments in land.
