Until recent years, share trading only took place on the floor of the New York, Tokyo or London Stock Exchange (there are also regional stock exchanges in different smaller cities plus a few other major stock exchange markets). Point is that access to share trading was only limited to a small group of licensed brokers who were down on the floor taking orders from different clients around the world. But now, with the evolution of the online share trading, you and me can freely trade in real time, all that’s required is a computer with Internet connection and a credit card. Even day share trading is relatively cheap and accessible. As a matter of fact, brokers have also gone online and about 90% of all trading is done over the Internet on computer screens and telephones and the floor of the Stock Exchange is almost deserted.
